ENGINEERING
Here at Chico High, we offer many levels of engineering, from beginning to advanced. Seniors typically take ROP courses, which you will find details of on the ROP information page. Here you can read about the course details, see some example projects created by students, and even explore student-made websites!
This is an entry-level class for beginning engineering students. In this course, students will spend one semester doing traditional board drafting. In the second semester, the students will produce a variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional engineering projects using AutoCAD software.
This is the intermediate course offered in the engineering program. In the first semester of this course, students continue to use AutoCAD software. They produce a variety of 3D models from which they extract traditional detailed technical drawings. In the second semester, the students begin to use SolidWorks software.
This is the advanced course offered in the engineering program. Similar to architecture, it is the pre-capstone course to ROP. Students complete a variety of reverse-engineering projects to develop their general engineering knowledge and SolidWorks skills.
