The greatest thing about Architectural Design and CAD to me was the fact that this class is not just meant for those looking to pursue an interest in becoming an Architect. The biggest choice that faces young adults in America today has become their choice of career.

Engineering and architecture where always considerations for me, but I knew neither quite touched on what I wanted to do for a living or who I wanted to be; the person who would preside over the entire construction process, the guy who would be integrally in charge in order to be fully responsible. The first time I heard about Construction Management in Mr.Bruggeman’s class I was stunned at the realization that it was exactly the career I was looking for. One that was strongly based on the skills that I had while still being in extreme demand within the industry and as a result, high paying. The skills student acquire in Mr. Bruggeman’s Architectural Design and CAD are beyond applicable to the construction industry as it is today. Mr.Bruggeman integrates the teaching of cutting edge technologies that have yet to be fully adopted by the industry itself.

Having gone through the whole Architecture program at Chico High, I had the opportunity to learn how to use the newest and greatest tools available to the field of construction and have had the opportunity as a Construction Management major at Chico State to even teach my professors about such things while they are teaching me. Going through the Architectural Design and CAD program at Chico High has not only set me up with the skills I need to be more than competitive in the work environment, but has also set me on a course towards the career I have always wanted to have.
